2011 – ShowCase Template – How to add sidebar content

  • I have a front page using the showcase template. I’d like to add some “hot news” type content in the LH sidebar aside the list of recent posts:

    What is the best method of doing this – do I have to fiddle with the template code or can I use a widget ( these only work on blog pages ? ). Any guidance here appreciated. Thanks.

    I’ve just noticed that there is a widget area already set up for the sidebar with the showcase template !
