WordPress isn’t an email application.

We have a need to send mass email to our users. Presumably this is what tomasi514 wants. Given that 1) mass email is prohibited by many hosting accounts and 2) it is good way to get your domain blacklisted, we’ve opted for exporting the required email addresses and using a third-party service like Constant Contact– not an endorsement, just an example– to actually send the email. I built a script to do the export. That is what I’d recommend to tomasi514.

tomasi514, if you do decide to pursue some kind of mass email functionality from within WP be aware that WP will, at least in some circumstances, use PHP’s mail() function and PHP’s docs warn against using mail() to send large volumes of email.

Good point! I’d agree that using a 3rd party service like Constant Contact is a practical solution.
