• Hi Photocrati, you guys should start giving these updates different codenames, perhaps named after famous serial killers?

Each ‘update’ creates new terrible ways to destroy websites. The last version killed sliders and media gallery, 2.0.11 kills the admin panel. The next will probably destroy the database.

In the rush to release this you’ve done this plugin’s reputation way more harm than good.

Now I have to start looking for alternatives.

  • Surely for you it’s some incompatibility with a plugin or theme.
I’ve installed that version when it was still in beta and nothing is dead.
For me there are some differences and deficiencies: custom fields doesn’t work anymore, exclude images doesn’t work properly and there’s no way for alternative watermark fonts… but nothing is broke now.

Doesn’t work for me either. I get nothing but an error when trying to use pagination: If you’re seeing this, it’s because the gallery type you selected has not provided a template of it’s own.

The update is still causing my dashboard to crash, unfortunately.

Updated from 2.0.7 to the 2.0.11. Broken now. WordPress 3.6

Says it created a “fatal error” (Exception Thrown).

Just uninstalled it. Then reinstalled it from scratch. Seems to work fine now. Apparently the “Upgrade” fouled things.

What happened to the ability to image captions below the thumbnails for certain galleries? I see there’s a template for captions, but I don’t want all my galleries having captions, only select galleries. What’s the shortcode for captions? It’s no where to be found on your documentation.

kofcbozeman, when you uninstall NextGEN completely, does it have any effect on the hundreds of pix you’ve already posted on your website using nextGEN in the past? I’m afraid to completely get rid of it and then reinstall it only to find everything I’ve done previously has been undone.

Forgot to mention the theme I am using is a premium theme called Karma from Themeforest

Never mind…opened in a different browser and the old version is working again. Must have kept the error in the cache. I am back to V1.9.3 forever it would seem.

This is my experience: I first update the wordpress and then the NextGen plugin to 2.0.11. Entire site is drastically slowed (including backend). Images won’t upload, media gallery does not display when adding post, lightbox bugged (and other tons of bugs)…
I first thought it was due to the new WordPress version, but that was not the problem. The problem is NextGen plugin (2.x).
Then I deleted nextgen and uploaded V1.9.3 .

    Website re-runs fast and stable.

I do not know what the problem is with the new version of NextGen (slow, unstable, buggy), but it seems to me that the problem is with Pope Framework…

‘ll use the old version as long as it works well. It did not even occur to me to install 2.x version…
