@filmparadiset – No, you can use lightbox, fancybox & other lightbox effects in NextGEN Gallery (free version). There is a new lightbox effect specifically called ‘NextGEN Pro Lightbox’ that is only included when you have the Premium extension plugin called NextGEN Pro, installed. You can see what I’m referring to here: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/nextgen-pro/#prolightbox click on the thumbnails in that gallery to see the effect.
@rtb1982 – What you can do is submit this as a bug report here: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug with as much detail as possible. Bug reports go straight to our developers to review. We can’t give an exact date of when a compatibility fix will be provided for your theme specifically, it could be that as you keep up to date – one of our updates including a compatibility fix for another theme will resolve the issue you’re seeing, so be sure to keep up to date just in case. We honestly, want to be as compatible as possible with the thousands of themes & plugins out there, but in some cases that’s impossible. But we’ll try.
We can’t do anything about some plugin/theme compatibility if users do not send us bug reports (we can’t replicate every single NextGEN users instance – that’s impossible considering how many plugins/themes there are, and how many varying hosting environments), so please be sure to send yours in (including login credentials will help accelerate the rate in which we can provide fixes).

*I will be marking this thread as resolved, since we now know it’s a theme conflict. We will work on a compatibility fix as soon as we can.
