I have a strange issue happening and have found that Wordfence seems to be causing a -200 error when attempting to upload certain images into a gravity forms multi file upload field. I found it to be Wordfence because the error would not occur if the plugin was disabled. What’s even more strange is that it seems to only happen on Windows PCs (Don’t have a specific version, but have tested it on 10), but not all Windows 10 PCs. I’ve tested this on several PCs in our office with two of them being the same configuration, but the error does not occur on both PCs. Here is a screenshot of the error message https://pho.to/AQOa8

  • I am having the same exact issue. I have clients who have been unable to upload files to a Gravity Forms form I have on one of our sites. Clients are reporting the -200 error when trying to upload documents to the Gravity Forms multi-file upload field. The issue goes away when Wordfence is deactivated. As with the original poster, mantonio77, it doesn’t happen with all clients. However, for the clients it does happen to, they are on various different computers, OSs and browsers (Macs, PCs, Chrome, Firefox, etc.).

Can someone give some input on this issue? In the meantime, I’ve had to leave Wordfence deactivated, as the forms working correctly take precedence. But I would obviously prefer to be able to use both plugins.

Besides disabling the plugin I have tried keeping Wordfence enabled, but disabled the firewall which will also fix this issue. Something in the firewall rules seems to be causing the error. I first thought it might be the category “file_upload” so I unchecked them one by one only to see the same issue. By disabling the firewall completely the error does not appear. This will at least keep the “Basic WordPress Protection” active, but I’m not sure how much the plugin is actually protecting at this point. Oh, and I should also mention that this error is showing for more than just certain images. Certain images seem to trigger the error, but I have also seen it for PDFs as well. I only allow jpg, jpeg, png, and pdf file formats in the upload fields.

The firewall rule, Malicious File Upload (PHP), was triggering the error for me. I can keep Wordfence enabled along with the firewall now as long as that rule is not active. However, I’d still like to know if there’s a fix for this since that is one rule that I would definitely like to keep active. Anyone have any suggestions???
