    Do you think it would be worthwhile to contact the hosting site and see if they keep the content backed up for a certain amount of time?

    You could try but it’s a long shot :-/

    Unless you downloaded a copy of your database or an export from wordpress… hostmonster probably has already deleted your account if you stopped paying for it.
