2-step Authenticator Issues

  • I recently upgraded my phone and wiped it clean. My Google Authenticator app on that phone was erased. I use the app to log into my page through wp-admin.php and I’m not able to log in now. Thank you for your help.

    What plugin did you use to a the GA 2FA? Disable it temporarily by renaming its directory in wp-content/plugins. Once logged in, re-enable the plugin, disable its 2FA, then re-enable 2FA and you should be given an opportunity to set a new code for your site.

    I just found out that the GA app (at least on iOS) allows you to export all your stuff and import it on the GA app on another device, so I have it running on both my iPhone and iPad. I’ll feel a lot more comfortable the next time I replace my phone.
