2 questions – New Install of WordPress

    im in the admin.. I need to know
    1. How to set all links to appear permanent? where do i go to do that?
    2. I wish to edit the template so I can place adsense in the TOP, RIGHT SIDE and BOTTOM, I went under PRESENTATIONS > THEME EDITOR and I see the code below.. but there is no SAVE button it says

    “If this file was writable you could edit it.”

    So before its going to let me change anything.. do i like have to set permissions on files or folders through my ftp? and if so will i have to do the same for permanent links and if so.. which files do i do and what do i chmod them too?
