    Hi,

I have 2 questions about the PayPal standard settings in WooCommerce >> Settings >> Payments >> PayPal.

    1) What is the “Receiver email”. Please explain. Is the customer who buys something on my website going to see this email address in his PayPal receipt or somewhere else?

    2) “Send shipping details to PayPal” : here is the note in the help : “You can opt to have WooCommerce send shipping details to PayPal to create shipping labels instead of billing”. I don’t use PayPal to create shipping labels. Should I check this checkbox or not? I did not check it but it’s also written that “Disabling this option may block the application of sales protection through PayPal” so I don’t know what to do? Please explain.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

  • Hi!

    Thanks for reaching out!

If your main PayPal email differs from the PayPal email entered in the settings you’ll need to input your main receiver email for your PayPal account in that box. This is used to validate IPN requests.
It generally won’t be shown anywhere publicly.

If you’re not using PayPal to create shipping labels you don’t need to send shipping info to PayPal, but like the warning says, if you deactivate this, PayPal’s purchase and sales protections may not apply to all sales. I recommend leaving the send shipping details option on.

    I hope that helps!

Ok thank you for your help.
I’ll now leave the “Send shipping details to PayPal” option on as you suggest.

    Thank you for your help!
