I see you answered 2 and 3 in another post, that’s fine, I don’t get much traffic from them anyway, if you could just answer question 1 that would be great.

    Hi Greg:
    1. Note: Using this plugin is at your own responsibility. We do not answer questions concerning your servers performance, security or otherwise.
BUT: it is imposible for Search Engine to penalize someone for protecting their investment, this would be anticompetitive practices, and is illegal !!!

Hotlink adversely affect servers performance, bandwidth, and cost … your investment and it is your right to take action against thieves !!!

    2. BING redirect will work with next update 1.8.7, but only with Chrome and Firefox browsers (Opera will not work) … Other browsers have not been tested !

you can check with publicphoto.org here: https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=site%3apublicphoto.org&FORM=HDRSC2

Note: Only watermark images are redirected … because and not all images from publicphoto.org is watermarked!

    3. With or without watermrk, Yahoo does not offer option to click on the picture … at least I have not seen!

    Thank you.

The jump in traffic I see after only a few hours using the plug-in has put me back where I was before the change, great work!! It’s amazing the views Google basically stole from me.

    I’m glad I could help you …

Update to new version: bing redirection in chrome and firefox.

And if google was against us, https://wp-picshield.com/ have no pictures indexed, because this site has always enabled plugin from the beginning.

?? probably the only site in the world to have anti-hotlinking protection even before being indexed in Google.

Did it yesterday, Bing working fine as you say.

I’ve been watching Google and they have indexed images since I used the plug-in without problem, none de-indexed that I’ve seen.

Problem is the plug-in doesn’t seem to be working with any images I’ve uploaded after I enabled it.

btw, if u use jetpack or cdn’s …

Very important: Read before use and install!

Varnish, Lighthttpd, and other ?cache? services is not 100% compatible with this plugin ? probably only if cache is disabled for all images.

CDN images will not be redirected and no watermarked (if they are served correctly) ? so, clearly, this plugin is suitable only for standard installation and for CDN with custom htaccess configurable by webmasters. CDN users must ensure that the images served by the CDN?s server may be manual updated or have expiration period.

Beware of those who use the Jetpack. CDN wordpress (Photon) never expire, and the lowest WP-PICShield version that allows Photon to take pictures correctly is 1.8.9.d ! If you are unsure, do not use this plugin. Photon Cache can not be updated, watermark images remain forever (unless you change the images path or filename)
