• Hi – I am new to this and trying to change my header background to an image. The instructions from wordpress seem simple enough, yet I can’t get it to work. Two questions:
    1. I tried to upload the header I created to Flickr and then to use Kubrickr to install it, but I can’t get it to show up in Kubrickr. Is there something I’m missing?
    2. I assumed I could upload my header image to the same file as the default kubrick image, but I can’t figure out where that is (I used an auto setup with my host). Alternately, I can’t figure out how to indicate where I have placed the file successfully, and I couldn’t find the answer to this in the forums. Any suggestions?

  • 2. Go into your wp-content/themes directory and then inside the theme (kubrick) directory and you’ll find ‘images’ directory. Make a backup of the header image there and then replace it w/ yours (by the same name).

That’s the problem – in wp-content/themes there is no images folder in my kubrick (labeled ‘default’) folder.

When I go into header.php to edit it, the code reads:

    #header { background: url(“<?php bloginfo(‘stylesheet_directory’); ?>/images/kubrickheader.jpg”) no-repeat bottom center; }

But I can’t locate kubrickheader.jpg in the files on my host.

    Help!?

Try to upload again the theme and make sure you upload the images, too.

Thanks, I’ll try that. Now that I think about it I had to modify those folders by updating certain files to get the sidebar widgets plugin to work – jeez, I can get one thing to work, and it makes another go wonky…Will let you know if that solves the problem.

    That fixed it! Thank you!!!

More help needed! I fixed the header and all looked fine from my firefox browswer in my mac – now when I load teh webpage in IE on a PC it shows up as the default header again! AAAAAARRRRGH.

    PS. My URL is https://www.menandcats.com
the image I am trying to use is menandcatheader.jpg

It’s simpler to go into your theme’s image folder and rename kubrickheader.jpg to something else.
Then rename your image to kubrickheader.jpg and put it in the same folder. You get your header and don’t have to redefine stuff elsewhere.

Yep, I tried that – it didn’t work!
Do I need to change something in the stylesheet?
I am totally at my wits’ end over this.

OK, I fixed it! I had to rename my header kubrickheader.jpg AND reload all the image files to my host, and that did the trick.
Thanks for all your help, everyone.
