2 orders with the same paypal transaction ID

  • Hello!

    We’ve been experiencing double orders entering on our site but they have the same paypal transaction ID… so we received only one payment. These orders are only 1 minute apart. Is this a paypal issue or woocommerce issue? Is there a fix for this?

    Also, what we are thinking is if there are two orders with the same paypal transaction id, then the order should not be created OR should be placed on On Hold status.

    I would like to know if you found any solution to your problem.

    I have faced a similar issue where 2 orders from the same user were placed. Both the order values and products were different. But we received payment for only first order in Paypal and same transaction ID was used for the second order.

    Currently, both orders are in progress but the payment has been received for only 1 order.

    Let me know if you found anything on this matter.

    Hello Darshan!

    We just updated the plugin to the latest version. The double order still happens from time to time, but we don’t get 2 orders with the same paypal ID anymore. This was the major issue we had wherein we processed and shipped out both orders even when we only received one payment.

    The type of double order that remains for us is the first order has paypal transaction id, the second one does not so we’re able to determine that the one without the transaction id should not be processed and be marked as cancelled.
