• Hi All.

Issue is that I have old 2 posts in my WP site that don’t respond to being sent to the bin or deleted. They just remain there, active.

If I try to change their slugs it doesn’t work either.

I’m not a developer, but am handy with WordPress in general and know a little code.

If you know of a plugin that will let me delete these posts straight from the database, or another way to achieve this, I’d be very grateful.

    Thanks all!

This may be plugins or theme conflict.

    – try deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Alternately, if you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    Great tip for health check.

I did this (without Health Check) and it didn’t solve the issue.

With all plugins deactivated and the TwentySeventeen theme active (unedited) the behaviour is the same. I get a notification that the post has moved to the bin and yet it hasn’t – just sits there defiantly.

So, how can I do this with more force?

Not sure what to do here guys? Is it possible to edit the posts straight out of the WordPress database somehow? If so, how?
