    Hello

I noticed today on two websites that the 2 level spam check does not work if WP Rocket is used on the site. If I activate the option and then clear the WP Rocket cache, I can successfully submit the forms for a few minutes (around 10 minutes or so), from then on all form submissions are blocked by the extension. If I clear the WP Rocket cache again, the forms work again for a few minutes. After that, all further submissions are blocked. On one website, the forms are implemented with Gravity Forms, on the other with the contact form element of the no longer available Shadow theme from KrownThemes.

    We use the following versions:
    WP Armour: 2.1.23
    WP Armour Extended: 1.29
    WP Rocket: 3.14.3 and 3.15.1
    Gravity Forms: 2.7.12
    WordPress: 6.3.4
    PHP: 8.2.x

Is this an intentional behavior or should the 2 level spam check also work with WP Rocket?

    Thank you very much

    Hi @dawasi ,

In Level 2 Spam check, we need to generate new field value everytime for submission. However, when cache plugin is used, cached files doesn’t allow to generate the new code. And this creates the issue.

So we usually don’t suggest to enable Level 2 spam check untill and unless there are many spam submission even after user our default spam check. In 99% of the cases Level 2 spam check is not needed.

Also, we have decided that we will be discontinuing Level 2 spam check from our next release. It is creating more confusion and doing bad than good.

    Thanks

    Hi @dnesscarkey

Thank you very much for your explanations.

This provides a lot of clarity and shows me that I don’t need to investigate the problem any further. Many thanks.

    Kind regards
