I have two domains setup on my linux box. Normal permalinks works on one, but not the other. The second domain works if I use the /index.php/ permalink.

phpinfo reports the same on both, mod_rewrite is enabled. htaccess exists is set 666 and gets populated when I update the structures, but apache throws 404’s on the second domain.

I even tried copying the htacces from one domain to the other.

The Vhosts file info is the same for the 2 doamins except for the domain names and physical locations for the files (document root, logs, etc).

    Any ideas?

I have a phpinfo script on each domain. Here are the links.

    Domain 1 working fine

    Domain 2
    https://www.canadianrider.info
    https://www.canadianrider.info/test.php

Permalinks on both sites are working for me. Also, I’m not sure how secure it is to show your php info in public, but I’n no security expert.

I would try putting a new and empty htacces file at the root of each WordPress install. Make sure the files are 666 and log in and set up a new permalink.

The permalinks are working on domain 2, but only if I preface them with /index.php/.

I did a touch htaccess adn chmod 666 then updated the structure and the same thing…. Weird.
