In the Category section of Library Settings, set the Link Categories Display Format to Table, then set the Number of Columns in Categories Table to 2.

I get 2 columns only using
    [link-library-cats]
but then nothing happens when i click on a category name

    no column with
    [link-library]

Basically i would like to have all categories names displayed on 2 columns and when i click on a name to be send to the content of that category.

You need to use both the [link-library-cats] and [link-library] shortcodes to get the result you are looking for.

The [link-library-cats] shortcode is used to display a list of categories for your links, while the [link-library] shortcode will display the links themselves.

Do you want the categories to be displayed first, followed by a list of all categories with their links? Or do you want to only see links from a first category, then change the category by clicking on a category name? Both of these behaviours and more are available through configuration options.

Let me know if this helps getting you closer to your goal or if you have further questions.

I would like to have all the categories on one page in 2 columns and when i click on a category name to have the links of this category on another page.

Like it does for a directory, links are never listed under each category on the same page or it would make a huge list…

Ah, I see. There are many ways to configure Link Library to achieve goals depending on the intended functionality.

To get to your desired results, take a look at the following instructions:

Let me know if the instructions are clear and if the library works as desired in this way. You do need to have your site configured to support nice permalinks for this to work correctly.

Ok, now it’s working, in the wiki you should also add to select “Only show one category at a time “

    otherwise it doesn’t work

    Many thanks !
