2 col theme like this – is it possible ?

I currently have a landing page and want to expend this to more so I’m looking at wordpress. But I want to keep a similar design because I like it and it works for me.

First I don’t need a header section.

I need to columns A and B

Column A – will have site title and under that links to categories in my shop. I’m sure this can be done with the normal links widget available. So it’s a sidebar but the column is set in position and does not scroll down with the browser scroll bar. I’ll also use widgets to create the navigation menu if I need one.

Column B – this contains the loop of posts. I’ll make one post sticky to hold the site introl that never changes.

So simple really but can’t find a template, anyone know of one ?
