2 categories widgets with different categories

  • Hello everyone. Im new to WordPress so I have some difficulties in setting it up. My question is how can I make my blog to have 2 categories widgets with totally different categories. Example:

    Category W #1
    category1
    category2

    Category W #2
    category3
    category4

    It must be really simple but maybe Im a complete idiot to understand it. When I add second category widget in my sidebar I don’t know how to specified which categories should contain. So both categories widget show the same 4 categories

  • I was just googling this very topic right now. I want to know too! i am not sure why wordpress would add category 1 menu and category 2 menu to the widgets then not explain how to use them so they they would have different categories within. For example, i wanted 2 category widgets. One for colours, the other for size (i.e, small, medium large, etc).

    Can anyone answer….please?

    Consider downloading and installing Otto’s execphp widget.

    Then just use one of those widgets to put the particular customization for each category you need using the template tag, wp_list_categories().
