    • Version 2.7.3 has a zipped filesize of 26.9MB compared to 2.7.2 6.6MB.
    • Unzipped 2.7.3 105.7MB compared to 2.7.2 36.6MB.
    • v2.7.3 adds a 44.8MB codecov file and size of vendor folder is doubled up to 46.5MB

In conclusion, this blow up the backup filesize for a small sites which has previous 30MB and now round about 140MB, because W3 total cache’s filesize is much more bigger than a default WordPress. Why is that needed?

    Hello @craftwerk

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to help!

These files are a part of our build and testing process, and you are correct- those are not needed. You can safely remove codecov file

As for the vendor folder, we have updated the libraries and this is the reason for the size of that folder.

We are aware of this and we are preparing a patch release soon that will fix this.

Thank you for taking the time to report this and thank you for your patience.
