I just updated to 2.0.9 on two sites and immediately got this notice on both sites with no way to dismiss it:

Proceed with caution: The Plugin you just installed may be incompatible with A2 Optimized.

I did not install any plugin to prompt the notice; just updated A2 Optimized!

  • @brit77: Agree: Wordfence is an essential plugin, what caching are you using?

@caban13 I’ve been using WP Fastest Cache, which is also on the “may cause issues with A2 Optimized” list! It’s not perfect, but overall I’ve had far fewer headaches with it than W3TC, and it seems to do a good enough job.

@brit77 You are hosted in A2 Hosting? I thought W3TC was required (forced). Tell me more… please…

@caban13 Yes, I am hosted on A2! W3TC is not required for hosting but is integrated with the A2 Optimized plugin (so it may be their recommended caching plugin). If you are going to use W3TC, I think it is recommended you use the A2 Optimized plugin so the caching settings are optimized to work with A2 hosting. But even optimized, I still had too many problems with W3TC, which is why I found a better caching solution for me. The new caching plugin of course is not compatible with A2 Optimized, but I can still use it (just decided not to use A2 Optimized anymore).

    Thanks a lot!
