This isn’t a huge problem and may have been introduced prior to 2.0.2 as I skipped the update that broke the plugin with SiteOrigin. I assume, since it showed up after updating the plugin it is a RPWE issue and not a SO issue. The site loads fine and the widget works but the title of the widget is showing up as a ‘missing widget’ on the backend of the page when using SiteOrigin’s Page Builder.

    Missing Widget
    Recent Posts Widget Extended

If I go in and rename it to ‘Site Origin Editor’ it still shows as ‘Missing Widget’ when I save it. Not a huge issue for us but am having to field emails from confused editors.

I am aware of this issue, but unfortunately, I can’t do anything more. By the way, if you re-added the widget to the SiteOrigin Editor, does the title still showing Missing Widget?

Thanks for the reply. Yes it does show but unfortunately it loses settings on save. Ex. We have four boxes that show a single post from different categories. If I re-add the widget and set it to show a single post of a specific category it works fine until I go in and edit anything in the widget. When I go back in the category is no longer checked so it defaults to the last post created.

I see, let me check. Last time I tested with SO builder, it worked well. By the way, are you using any cache plugin?

We are not using a cache plugin.

Found a workaround. Instead of setting up the widget, we are now using the a text box with the rpwe shortcode to pass the arguments. Works as expected.
