    Hi

I am having problems using PHP mail, it sends a test email fine but not to the new registration.

    I have also tried 1and1
auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk and it doesn’t work either, it just hangs.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled but still no joy.

Am I missing something? or does 1and1 close all the SMTP ports?

    Many thanks

    Could not open socket

Your host may have installed a firewall between you and the server. Ask them to open the ports.
You may have tried to (incorrectly) use SSL over port 587. Check your encryption and port settings.

    Hi,

This means that the ssl is disabled on your server by your Webhost.

Try disabling WHM >> Secuirty >> SMTP Restrictions.

    This should fix the issue.

    Thanks

I have a similar issue with 1and1 UK. My message is slightly different:

Sending Test Email to [I have not pasted the test email address]
Email Status : Email Not Sent
    —————————————————————————————-
    Debug Output :

    Connection timed out

Your host may have poor connectivity to the mail server. Try doubling the Read Timeout.
Your host may have installed a firewall (DROP packets) between you and the server. Ask them to open the ports.
Your host may have tried to (incorrectly) use TLS over port 465. Check your encryption and port settings.

I have tried several mailer plugins with 1and1. None of them work. This must be an issue with 1and1.co.uk and the way they set up their servers.

I had to resort to signing up to G Suite, which works fine using API.

    Hi Pawanahluwalia

It could be the shared hosting, unless you have a dedicated server.

Did you try Varun’s answer above?

    Thanks
