• I keep getting the Mod Rewrite Rules error. I’ve wrapped the old wordpress rules in the labels. I’ve tried putting the new stuff before it, after it, under it, over it, anywhere I can.

    The error:

    .htaccess is not writable by the webserver and must be updated with the necessary mod_rewrite rules. The new rules go above the regular WordPress rules as shown in the code below:

    MY CURRENT NON-WORKING HTACCESS:

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /blog/
    AddDefaultCharset UTF-8
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} !=POST
    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !.*s=.*
    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !.*attachment_id=.*
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_COOKIE} !^.*(comment_author_|wordpress|wp-postpass_).*$
    RewriteCond %{HTTP:Accept-Encoding} gzip
    RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/blog/wp-content/cache/supercache/%{HTTP_HOST}/blog/$1/index.html.gz -f
    RewriteRule ^(.*) /blog/wp-content/cache/supercache/%{HTTP_HOST}/blog/$1/index.html.gz [L]

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} !=POST
    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !.*s=.*
    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !.*attachment_id=.*
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_COOKIE} !^.*(comment_author_|wordpress|wp-postpass_).*$
    RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/blog/wp-content/cache/supercache/%{HTTP_HOST}/blog/$1/index.html -f
    RewriteRule ^(.*) /blog/wp-content/cache/supercache/%{HTTP_HOST}/blog/$1/index.html [L]
    </IfModule>

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /blog/
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L]
    </IfModule>
    #redirect 301 /blog/sitemap/ https://www.1goodreason.com/blog/sitemap.xml
    # END WordPress

    Any help is most appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Chris
