whats the piont of having a help forum if no-one replies.

    seriously is this the official forum for WordPress ? i.e with the absense of a actual customer support is this it ?

    I make posts asking questions and no-one bothers to answer. I’m basically saying there seems to be alot of issues with WP, I get told to re-install, its your host, your browser, you need to upgrade……

    It was made very clear that the issues were my end and not with WP, there seems to be alot of issues with WP, otherwise there wouldn’t be soooo many people having so many different problems.

    Surely if I’m using it for the MOST basic functions it should work ? The hosting I have has WP as standard and I used them (fantastoico) to install the system, Joomla etc works fine on my browser and why would you need to upgrade (which I have anyway) if there wasn’t problems with the system anyway.

    can an administrator/customer service person PLEASE please take a look in the troubleshoot area and answer my question.

    youve gotten replies to all of your posts, including the one which was just a longer version of this.

    Instead of creating new posts which add nothing to your trouble, and just irritate those of us, that have to read them.. go back to your original problems, and elaborate.

    Who is the host?
    What version of MySQL and PHP?
    What web server?
    What OS?

    What browser are you blah-blah-blah-ing this in?

    Sometimes Ashley, you have to be patient. I dont know where you are but it was 5:49 am in the United States when you made THIS post. Most actual people (taken out of your other post) in the United States are asleep at that time. I am only awake because I am at work.

    And sometimes, Ashley, you have to help yourself while you wait.

    sorry, I am in the uk and didn’t realise, Because I am female I tend to just get ignored on these things (forums), people pressume I’ve done something wrong and I must be thick. Maybe it was unfair to pidgeon hole you guys.

    I replied to the other post you gave me, which hopeful explain everything else.

    I honestly thought I was just getting fobbed off with silly answers.

    i understand the question you are saking about the host, server etc but as I’ve said surely if its standard and freely installed on the host it would be something else ?

    Another point, this forum is completely volunteer run. Of the thousands of WordPress users out there, there are maybe a dozen or so who help out here on a regular basis. Do you see the volume of support questions coming in? You do the math.

    No. This isn’t a company. You didn’t pay anything for WordPress. Okay, so the automattic guys are a company, but WordPress itself is open source software. It’s free. If you want professional support, then you need to hire/pay somebody for it. And this is not the place to do that.

    While it is a truism that “free” does not mean lower quality, it also means that it’s not necessarily on your own schedule. When you’re basically asking for a donation of somebody’s time, it’s generally considered rude to demand it when it’s convenient for you.
