Tags Not Showing With the_tags() In Theme

The Template Tag, the tags(), must be used in The Loop. Take a look at the use of that tag in the WordPress 1.6 Default theme (wp-content/themes/default/index.php).

It is in the loop. I’m using it right after the_content(). I’m using it this way in a different blog and it’s working fine there.

Might consider posting your index.php file at https://wordpress.pastebin.ca/ and reporting the link back here.

See I dont’ know enough about this, but I remember two other complaints about tags using the Asides and those people were using start_wp.

Maybe somebody can pipe in about what that start_wp does cause it might be the culprit.

OK. I replaced start_wp() with the_post() as follows:

<?php if ($posts) : foreach ($posts as $post) : start_wp(); ?>
is now
<?php if ($posts) : foreach ($posts as $post) : the_post(); ?>

The tags are showing now.

Hmm, just read something, try replacing the start_wp with setup_postdata
