127.0.0.1 “It Works!”, but doesn’t bring up blog home page

    I’ve installed WordPress 2.6.3 locally on a LAMP setup to mess around with WP before uploading to my hosted site.

    Installation seems to have gone well, except that typing 127.0.0.1 into my browser brings up “It Works!” instead of my blog’s home page. I can get to 127.0.0.1/wp-admin and the dashboard loads up and WP seems to be working fine, yet when I click “visit site” from in the dashboard, which is pointed to 127.0.0.1, the “It Works!” screen comes up.

    I can’t figure out which part of my LAMP installation was done improperly, or which needs to be modified.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
