• Dear WordPress bloggers,

I thought that this information could be useful for all of us. I have just found out with my domain registrar (HumDomains) that 5GB Free CMS/Forum/Blog/Gallery hosting plan (with forced ads – non obstructive though) is provided with every domains bought from them. Really good for trying out many new things – and best of all I paid only for the domain.

To make you believe, you may check this where I installed WordPress 2.1.3 (free auto-installation) a while ago https://www.manipurtimes.com/wordpress/ (just to check out about the features of free hosting plan)

Most importantly, this free hosting plan has all the facility with that of 5GB Economy Hosting Plan listed in that site, however with the forced ads as as seen in https://www.manipurtimes.com/wordpress/

I am exploring more about it – if everything works well I will consider upgrading to the paid hosting plan sooner or latter. I really like the free services with every domains offered by them.

If you are interested – here is the site HumDomains

I hope it will be helpful.

    SINGH

PS: I am not associated with HumDomains

Does any have experience with this free or paid hosting plan.

Exploring further, I have tried installing Joomla 1.0.2 – https://www.manipurtimes.com/joomla/

It works fine. I am going to try installing the latest version of wordpress and check out if it works with the FREE hosting plan. If it works, that will be just great.

If someone has the experience with it please reply to this post

    Best wishes,

Those free ads look like the same thing Godaddy uses on their “Free with Domain” plans, and WordPress DOES NOT WORK properly with those plans.

    Hi Micheal,

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any idea on what kind of problem do they usually faced for using this free plans (being free, it may not support everything – just a guess). What about the paid hosting plan – does the problems solved after upgrading to paid hosting plan.

    Your valuable suggestion is appreciated.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Micheal,

I almost decided not to try any further after hearing from you. However, I just wanted to try.

I installed wordpress 2.2.1 manually here – See at https://www.manipurtimes.com/wordpress2/ – smooth installation. I play around with some themes – some of them fails to give proper layout (due to the ads on the top). However mostly works well.

So far I have not tried any plugins. What kind of problems do you faced before. I can have a try and check it out.

    Best wishes,

    SINGH

    Check your RSS feed.

You can not have ads injected into the website pre/post php it will break you RSS, and well you RSS is broken thanks to the ads

Your host is using mod layout or other method of injecting their ads and this does NOT work with wordpress and many other blogging platforms.

    Peace.

Thanks for the comments, Hmmmm – I have seen the same with Joomla, RSS is also not working out there though many extensions were working well with this free hosting plan. However, one interesting thing is that Quick blog that comes free with domain from them works well with RSS. I have not installed it yet ( as I was trying out first with wordpress) but,I have seen it at https://blog.humdomains.info

Unfortunately, their support are limited to technical issues only, but not for fixing script developed by the third party such as wordpress or joomla.

    Best wishes,
