• I have a 1.2 version working just fine.
I installed a new 1.2.1 version going through the same install procedure and then I replaced the 1.2.1 index.php file and layout.css file with the 1.2 version files as well as copied all the graphics that should come with them thinking that everything would look the same. Some of the formatting is similar but the graphics, colors, type face are not the same.
    Did I miss something?

If you’re talking about the graphics, color, and typeface of the blog, all of those where stored in the index.php and wp-layout.css files…which you replaced.

The ones I replaced were from my 1.2. It should look like my 1.2 layout but it doesn’t.

Did you view your page before you changed the files for the old ones ?
Could what you are seeing be in your browser cache ?

So, you had a unique layout in your 1.2 install, and you upgraded to v1.2.1. When you replaced the v1.2.1 index and CSS with v1.2 index and CSS, are you speaking of your originally customized index and CSS? If you are, and if you did, then something is in fact wrong. A URL would help.
