I was curios to as if there is any special steps in downgrading WordPress. I ran into some pluggin issue (or at least I hope thats the problem) after upgrading. Is it just the same as upgrading, only you use older WordPress files? I am planning on going from 2.1 back to 2.05.

    Thanks,
    Orion

  • Well, aside from thinking you should (after downgrading to 2.0.5) upgrade that to 2.0.8, yes….

Assuming you have a 2.0+ database, you simply drop the database tables (not the db itself!), delete the entire fileset in the wp installation (EXCEPT for wp-config.php and any special/custom theme files), upload the older version fileset, and run install. Then once installed, go back into the database, drop all the tables (again, just the tables, not the db!), import the 2.0+ db backup, and visit the admin section. If you get an upgrade notice, click it….

    Should be good to go….

Ok… thanks, I will give it a try. And hopefully this will resolve my issue with the Post Image Pluggin. Thanks,

Ok… downgrading was simple, but it didn’t fix my problem. Thanks for your help.

Hmmm. Well, maybe try a different plugin for images? Only one I unequivocally recommend is Image Manager from https://soderlind.no/…. and I also recommend Windows Live Writer as a blog client – https://windowslivewriter.spaces.live.com/ – absolutely the simplest image insertion possible.
