1024 or 1200 pixel wide ?

  • What is the best/recommended pixel size width now 2021 ?

    At forums and websites, some recommend 1024 pixel wide, other recommend 1200 pixel wide.
    But it seems as Google prefer 1200 pixel for some reason.

    (By default wordpress has made 1024,768,300 pixel wide)

    Does this “Google……” mean that 1200 pixel wide is the new standard and I have to upload new picture sizes 1200 to wordpress site with FTP for best image quality ?

    The “best” image size depends on your theme.

    I ask about 1024 and 1200 pixel since this topic often is discussed and also at this forum in thread: “Google is requiring 1200 pixel wide images”
    Since 1024/1200 is common subject, I woundered if 1200 is the new standard and I should always upload image 1200px wide instead of 1024px.

    That’s something outside of WordPress. If you have questions about Google “standards”, it would be best to ask in the various Google support fora.

    And remember, you design websites for viewing by PEOPLE, not by machines. Image size is part of the design, which is intended to convey a message.
