100% width for text on all pages

Hi. Relative newbie
Site is avantgardescience.com
Just updated to latest wordpress and plugins. Done nothing else.
Had my text at 100% – no sidebars
This now seems not possible through the standard interface
Done loads of googling
Commented out all sidebar code
Tried putting blank text widget in the sidebar
