100 images in the free plan is an absolute joke. I was super excited when SiteOrigin recommended this plugin as their official image compressor. However, having such a tiny sample size for the free version is a complete turn-off and an insult to prospective buyers. WILL NOT SPEND MONEY FOR PRO VERSION.

    Hi,
thanks for taking the time to review our plugin! ??

I understand that you were surprised that there were only 100 free image credits/month by default? I’m asking because we tried to make it clear on our plugin page but maybe there is room for improvement.

How many free credits do you feel you’d need to properly test our service?
Also, did you know that you can optimize for free as many images as you want with our web tool here?

I would appreciate your follow-up on this.

    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hi Alex.

I was passing by and thought I’d join the conversation: –

Personally I think it would be a good idea to have more than 100 images free; but not so many that people start taking advantage of your plugin and cause you to make a loss or significantly reduce any profit margin.

I don’t know the figures and logistics so I can’t comment further.

I am not staff or representative of the plugin, just a regular user. I definitely don’t understand the frustration of some people. 100 is just enough to tell if the plugin works or not is it worth to purchase api key or not, and it is clearly stated in the plugin description.

Running such image optimizer takes a lot of resources of the company that supports and maintain it. It’s processor heavy and has lots of users. To pay small sum of 4.99$ is definitely worth it and you get thousands of images and that way you help the company keep it up to date.
