  • Hey @partounian,

how many images are in there? 100% CPU usage, that’s weird. Because there is no processing on user end, memory might be in use because of the file operations, but CPU usage doesn’t makes sense to me.

What is the config of your VPS, and how many images are in there?

    Cheers, Umesh

I’m running a LEMP stack with MariaDB 10.1. We’re running 2 DO $10 droplets, one for Nginx/PHP-FPM and the other for the DB. I believe there are thousands of images.

@partounian, with that configuration, it’s highly unlikely for CPU to shoot at 100% because of Smush. Can you check the process consuming most CPU from terminal? Is it mysql or some other process? That’ll help a bit to get to the bottom of the problem.

As I mentioned the DB is on a separate VPS. Also, turning off Smush CPU is normal, turning it on CPU explodes.

Oh yeah, db is on another server. Still can you do a quick check with htop or some other linux activity monitor, to see what process is taking up the CPU.

    Thanks.

I tried it again today and we seem fine now. Thanks!
