    I just got the same Update Failed/Critical Error warning when trying to update JetPack to 10.5 on 3 different websites (on the same hosting server), though the update seemed to work eventually. Why is this happening?

  • Some variation of this keeps happening more often than not when updating Jetpack on my site. Would like to know if something’s broken on my end that I need to fix after this happens:

    Having similar issues with updating Jetpack 10.5 as it failed. WordPress version 5.8.3
    Current theme: Divi (version 4.14.2)
    Current plugin: Jetpack (version 10.5)
    PHP version 7.4.27

    Error Details
    =============
    An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 90 of the file /home/customer/www/kingslantern.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/vendor/jetpack-autoloader/class-php-autoloader.php. The plugin does not provide an option for me to update it again. The only option I have is to ‘disconnect and deactivate’. Should I do this and try reinstalling?
