1 x Category free, Other Categories fee for shipping

    Hi, I have the following requirements:

    We have many categories, but one particular category “Future Releases” is a deposit payment only to reserve a product. When the product is released, the customer will be charged the remaining balance and a shipping charge manually.

    We use the Australia Post Shipping plugin to calculate weight based shipping (qty/weight) etc.

    So if a customer adds a Future Release product to their cart, the shipping should be $0.00 for that product.

    However, if they ALSO add a normal product (any other category) to the cart as well, then that particular product MUST be charged the relevant Aust Post shipping rate, whilst keeping the “Future Release” product as Free of shipping cost.

    e.g. in cart:
    1 x Future Release product (no postage cost)
    2 x Normal products – postage needs to be applied for these 2 products ONLY (retaining the free postage for the Future Release product).

    How can we achieve this please?

    Hello there,

    Thanks for reaching out to us.

    We have reviewed your query in detail and sorry to say but your query about “postage needs to be applied for these 2 products ONLY” is not fulfilled in our current plugin version.

    In our plugin you can check if a specific category exists or not and based on that you can add the flat shipping price.

    There is no way to check a particular category’s quantity based rules.

    Thanks Hitendra, I think I’ll have to look into a “backorder/deposit taking” plugin instead.
