• This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen in all the years working on WP.

One particular page has generated an Initial cap letter in the page URL, which does not match the lower-case permalink. When I click the Events navigation tab, I get an error message because that link points to the /events page…while the content is visible only on the /Events page (which I never created!).

The correct page URL *should be*: https://christineoliverfineart.com/events

The page permalink is set to: https://christineoliverfineart.com/events (results in an error)

The generated URL is: https://christineoliverfineart.com/Events (correct content appears on this page, but only if the E is capitalized)

Here’s what I’ve already done trying to fix this:
? Deleted the page and created a new one. This gave me the same results (although none of these problems exist on other pages)

? Verified in the the Widgets/Menu custom menu AND the Theme Customizer/Menu that the page has Events for the navigation/title and the slug is events

? Reset the Permalinks option to force WP to re-set the pages. No correction took place.

I’ve never had this happen before, and all the other pages work fine, but I cannot see any difference between the pages viewing inside WP.

Any clues to what is going on and how to fix it?

    Best regards,
    Nancy

    – If you’re talking about permalinks for PAGES (e.g., About page, etc.), you can edit/set the “permalink” for pages in the page-editor. It’s called a “slug” and you set it right below the title field where you edit/create your pages in the dashboard.

Yes, Tara – all the slugs are set correctly (as lower case). The Events Page slug is “events”, but the URL generated has a capital letter.

Keep in mind, NONE of the other pages I’ve created have this issue…just this one page.

For the time being, I’m going to create a ‘Custom Link’ in the menu pointing to the right page…but I’d still like help resolving this.
