  • What is your configuration in the MAIL tab?

I have the same issue …
and it seems to be recent (up until recently – the form worked fine … and I have not made changes to the form, configuration or my email addresses for 2 years!) …

perhaps this is a new bug due to a wordpress update or contact 7 plugin update?

as of today – contact 7 no longer sends me emails…and
    as the OP states …
Contact Form 7 says 1 configuration error found.

with no other indication as to what is wrong.

Again – I will state – the contact form remains unchanged since I first set it up 2 years ago (nor have the email setup changed).

I took a screen shot of it but not sure how to share it here.

    TO: [email protected]

    FROM: [your-name] <[email protected]>

    ADDITIONAL HEADERS: Reply-To: [your-email]

In your FORM tab are the fields required (*)? For example:

    [text* your-name]
    [email* your-email]
    [text* your-subject]
    [text* your-message]

Here is what my form tab shows

    <p>Your Name (required)
    [text* your-name] </p>

    <p>Your Email (required)
    [email* your-email] </p>

    <p>Subject
    [text your-subject] </p>

    <p>Your Message
    [textarea your-message] </p>

    <p>[submit “Send”]</p>

OK. One of the new requirements is for there to *always* be some text in the SUBJECT field so it cannot be left empty and spam-like. Therefore, either make your subject mail-tag required in the FORM:

    [text* your-subject]

Or, add some permanent text to the SUBJECT field in the MAIL tab. For example:

    SUBJECT: Re: [your-subject]

    Now it should validate ….

    You’re a genius! Thank you.

@cjcornell2 . . . add “Re:” in front of [your subject] on the mail tab. #BOOM #PrombleSolved

    @nashvilleamber

Happy to hear that did the trick ??

    thanks @barnez

awesome! i add the “*” to the fild and it solved the problem!

[text* your-subject] is the perfect solution!

one question if i add the “*” to the textarea will it make it an required fild?

can i write this [textarea* your-message]?

    thanks!

    @vizcano

Yes, you can make any field required.

    Thanks a lot @barnez
