• Hi
I’m a noob to WP but not to web design etc.
I wish to relaunch my entire site using WP, however I have 2 different domains under the same name .co.uk & .com and wish to run one single site / blog / theme for both domains, with any posts or additions to the site updated to both simultaneously. The 2 domains are also currently with different hosts (both will take WP but have different control panels).
I’ve also spent many years building up links to the 2 different domains so I’m not keen on just redirecting either of the domain names.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
    James.

  • I’m not sure if this is already possible with the current version of wordpress but what I do know is that when you create a blog using wordpress, the ‘siteurl’ information will be stored in the database. So if for example you first installed and run your blog with “domain.com” then installed another blog at “domain.co.uk” using the same database, when your “domain.co.uk” site queries for the posts or something like that in your database, it will give a 404 not found error and clicking any links will redirect you to your “domain.com” blog.

    My 2 cents.

if you can connect both sites to the same database with the same $table_prefix in both installs’ wp-config.php you can do it
