I just installed the update to 1.8.1 and when I go to my page, it shows that we’re closed with no hours listed (though I had the correct hours in the settings). The settings page is also blank now.

I still can’t reproduce it, sorry. The error points to a line that’s not PHP code. Does the error message come with more text? Can you print the full error here?

This is the complete original error displayed on the settings screen:
[01-Dec-2016 01:23:31 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Only variables can be passed by reference in /wp-content/plugins/business-hours-indicator/admin/partials/settings.php on line 83

These, I also receive via email from debug:
    Email 1:
    Error String: Undefined index: includevacations
    Error File: /wp-content/plugins/business-hours-indicator/public/class-bhi-public.php
    Error Line: 342
    Error Context: id | includevacations

    Email 2:
    Error String: Undefined index: includespecialdates
    Error File: /wp-content/plugins/business-hours-indicator/public/class-bhi-public.php
    Error Line: 342
    Error Context: id | includespecialdates

    Email 3:
    Error String: Undefined index: locations
    Error File: /wp-content/plugins/business-hours-indicator/public/class-bhi-public.php
    Error Line: 325
    Error Context: name | Broadway

    That’s all I’m getting

Thanks @ewilkes, I will continue to investigate now. Thanks a lot for your patience, I really appreciate it! I understand this is a hassle for you.

What happens if you activate a default theme (so deactivate Divi)?

I’ve switched to Twenty Sixteen with the same results. I’ve also tried disabling all other plugins with no improvement. Are the settings from the previous, working, installation stored in a table somewhere that I can clear (1 of the errors references settings from a location I setup previously)?

Thank you for all of your help with this, I really appreciate it.

I assumed that was the case but the mention of ‘Broadway'(the location I’d previously set up) in the error even after I had uninstalled made me curious. I’ll start there, then we can review the other options.

It’s strange, I’ve uninstalled again and verified that field is no longer in the table. I reinstalled and am still seeing reference to Broadway in the error. I’m going to start with the duplicator plugin and see where that takes me

Thank you for all your help! Our offline discussion, and the change you recommended, did the trick and the plugin works perfectly!
