• After upgrading to W3TC 0.9.5 today I notice that Opcode cache (Zend Opcache in my case) is enabled by default and cannot be disabled.

What is the rationale behind this choice?

In my setup I only enable Page cache and Browser cache usually.

  • Odd behavior the default config file doesn’t have it as a default.

Does your server run this opcode in the background anyways? And is it causing any issues on your end

It’s a Debian 8 nginx php mariadb setup, it’s not causing any issue.
