?/wp-admin?/admin-ajax.php what is it for?

you should have that file – it’s a core file
it is what does the fancy java in the dashboard

It’s for Ajax requests in the admin area of your WordPress installation, requests will be made to that by various features in the administration.

As said above, it should exist, so i’d be inclined to reupload the /wp-admin/ folder from a fresh zip(matching version) to make sure you’ve got all the necessary files(if one is missing it’s possible others are to).

Thank you. I checked again and it seems to be there actually, I guess it just generates 404’s when called upon. Everything in the dashboard seems to be working fine.

Any Ajax driven plugins installed?

@samboll – I have a question regarding that specific file as well, is there a way to lower the hits that it generates? It would grab 1500+ hits a day and use a lot of CPU server resources, is there a way that I may lower that usage down? Thank you so much in advance.
