Hello @abiturient
I hope you’re well today!
Hummingbird doesn’t make any permanent changes to the site so once it’s disabled, any issues related to it should disappear instantly. If it didn’t happen, that means that there’s some cache on site or server that cached the “real time” changes that Hummingbird did when it was active.
In such case there’s no need to restore the site from backup. Instead all cache should be cleared – if there are any caching plugins on site that cache should be cleared and also any cache on server should be flushed. Sometimes it may also be necessary to check the site using browser “incognito” mode or just clear browser browsing data.
The issue that you describe in your first post seem to be related to either wrong Asset Optimization configuration (sometimes it takes several attempts to get it configured in an optimal way for a given site) or to a conflict with theme or other plugin(s) on the site. It’s very likely that there’s already some optimization option enabled in the theme or some other plugin – and if so, that might be causing conflicts.
Could you tell us please if you are using any other plugins related to performance (apart from AMP) such as for example:
– caching plugins (like W3 Total Cache or similar)?
– asset optimization plugins (like e.g Autoptimize or similar)?
When you enabled Hummingbird, did you enable Asset Optimization and if so, which options in it did you enable for files? All of them or just some – if so what?
Kind regards,
Adam
