• Hi,
I would like someone who visits my page to be able to contact me by email, if they don’t want to leave a message. However i wouldn’t like to simply post my email or create a “mail to” html link, because i would obviously get spams.
Has anyone implemented this on his page: an email-me link that pops up a php form, more or less like the comments popup? No checks for required fields, nothing else, just the popup.
Help would be much appreciated, as i can’t code…
    Thanks

    Thank you for your reply.
So it is not displayed properly? Do you mean only the &#92? Well, i’d better wait for it to be fixed before i try using it.
And also – this is a php script, so i should save it as “something.php”, right? Then what do i do in my index.php page – i know how to create a link with html using href=”something”, but do i have to place any include in my php header so the thing pops up?
Many questions, uh? Just starting to learn about all this.

    Hi, southerngal!
It was your site i saw with this feature that made me think, hey i would like to have that on mine! This is the second time it happens on this forum, the owner of the site i looked at answers me. Makes me think we could have a website listing all the WP blogs out there…
Would you give me a hand? I don’t know any PHP. So, do i have to put anything inside my index.php (like an include or something), and where, to make this come up as a popup? (i only know that i must put a link of course, inside the “menu” div so it goes in the sidebar on the page).
    Thanks a lot!

That is *so* helpful, SG. Thanks!

    Welcome Cena! ??

I sometimes just ad an email link using this tool: https://htmlfixit.com/cgi-bin/tools/unicode_email_masking.cgi
There is a great spam article linked from there that suggests that something as easy as this may work fine thus far to avoid spam.
Also, consider whether your pop-up form will work around popup blockers these days.

Southerngal, thank you so much! The “like this” part is just what i needed to see, that was really very helpfull. I will get it working in no time.
And bestfoot, thanks for the advice too, i will consider the blockers…

I’m glad I could help Eddie. ?? I use Mozilla and in my browser I accept only the pop-ups I want. If you use a pop-up blocker there are ways to accept them. Otherwise the pop-up comment windows would be a pain, eh?

well a requested popup box comes on my contact page works on both mozilla and opera with popup blocked. ?? if u still have any problem, check the form here:

Right, Sushubh, that’s what mine does too. It’s a pop-up you are requesting. I don’t really see a problem with that…
