The database server could be connected to (which means your username and password is okay) but the mywpdatabase
database could not be selected.
root
?have permission to use the?mywpdatabase
?database?username_mywpdatabase
. Could that be the problem?I have been trying to install XAMPP with WP on my laptop in order to work on the site before making it live. I was able to get XAMPP installed and running with no problem, but when I go to configure WP, I can’t. I get screens that look nothing like any of the screenshots included in the documentation, I can’t open or create any of the config files it wants me to.
To paraphrase Sheldon, “I’m very smart, I was tested,” but I can’t get this figured out and I am beyond frustrated. Please, someone shove me in the right direction!
]]>I tried to restore it manually but the whole layout of the site is lost.
I even changed the site address to localhost with the SQL command, but it didn’t help.
I don’t know the PHP and SQL version of the backup file, but their latest version is installed on the virtual server.
I tried to restore it automatically in WordPress installed on local host so that every link and every variable in the database is set to the new conditions.
What should I do to solve this problem? Is there a plugin that can do this automatically?
Thank you very much guys
Also for some reason I saw that when I press at a table in phpmyadmin it says “Table doesnt exist in engine”.
I saw many suggestions about this which I tried.
-> One of them being the host having a limited amount of queries but I am using localhost so therefore this does not apply to me right.?
-> Table prefix in wp-config.php is correct and matches all tables in phpmyadmin.
->I copied backup into the data of mysql and still the same. ( and also tried doing it without copying ibdata1)
Please tell me what can I do it’s alot of my work that I did..
]]>I have a locally installed WordPress site on my PC (using XAMPP). It’s my first website and it is 70% ready, so I wanted to access it from different devices in my network, at home.
I did what it seems a classic mistake of changing the Site Address URL & WordPress Address URL in the WordPress General Settings both from “localhost/mysite.com” to “000.000.000.0//mysite.com” (yes, the result is, there is a double “//” in the current URL…) Now I have no access to my site/admin and I am not sure how to proceed.
I tried editing a few things in the wp-config, the Apache httpd-conf, and probably tried a few more advices I scattered around the internet. However I decided to return everything as it was initially so I don’t complicate things further.
So, what I am trying to understand now is what exactly do I need to do in order to regain access to my website.
I would appreciate anyone’s advice here. Thanks!
]]>Unfortunately, the issue has been present for sometime and it makes localhost development difficult. Without opcache I lose a lot of time in loading WordPress locally when deveoping and testing code.
Could I kindly ask this be looked into? For now I will use version 8.41 and test final output on a linode production server.
Thanking you kindly,
Mark.

Upon installing the WPdistrib distribution locally using localwp.com software, the “Headers Security Advanced & HSTS WP” plugin generates a critical error in both the backend and frontend. Deactivating the plugin resolves the issue. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the error. It is noteworthy that this issue has not been observed on XAMPP, another popular local server solution, nor on multiple hosting platforms. This suggests that localwp is likely the culprit, potentially due to a misconfiguration of PHP or other factors.

]]>I’ve migrated by blog to my localhost using Updraft Plus. It worked flawlessly, but now I can’t access my WP-admin page.
After entering my log in credentials I get a 404 error message (page not found).
I’m using ApacheFriends XAMPP Version 8.2.12 on Windows 10.
How can I fix this?
Please note, my live site is currently offline, since I will be moving to a new webhost.
