Hopeful, then very disappointed

I must say, I was hopeful when I discovered this plugin. It didn’t take long to be terribly disappointed, however.

First of all, WHY don’t you mention anywhere that the images will have an overlay over them? I assume this is true for the free version only, but there is NO WARNING in your write-up about it. It reads like it will work just fine with the free version. Why hide the fact that it will look like hell until you fork over some dough? Just be honest.

Secondly, some features don’t work anyway. Like the ‘full screen’ – it displays the image BELOW the entire site! You can see them in the margins behind the site, but that’s it.

Third, it’s poorly set up. You should allow the thumbnails to show below the slider, for one thing, so people can pick from the gallery – that’s why it’s called a “gallery”! This would be much better for desktop viewing, and in my opinion, better for devices as well.

Then it should go full screen once you pick an image to start with, and be able to go back to the gallery when you want.

Meanwhile, we’ll keep looking for a real swipeable solution for NextGen.

I’ve downloaded and set to ‘=false’, but when you click on the thumbnail it opens the attachment page, then click again to open in lightbox. How can i by-pass the attachment page, and open the thumbnails directly in lightbox?

Wunderslider no longer working

I can’t get Wunderslider to display in full size. I also can’t edit any of the other settings. I’ve tried disabling all extensions but it makes no difference.

Wunderslider and NextGen Gallery Albums

Hi, for some reason when I can’t get WunderSlider working for galleries that are accessed through albums. I have a number of galleries under the one album and i would love it if WunderSlider was the slideshow that’s displayed when a user clicks on a specific gallery rather than it coming up with the defaults NextGen sliders.

How can I resolve this so everytime a user clicks on a gallery using an album, wunderlisder is the slideshow displayed?

Please note:
I have turned all the defaults on. When i use [nggallery id=1] then wunderslider is the gallery that comes up. BUt doesn’t work when I use [album id=2 template=extend] and all the galleries are listed and user clicks on one of the galleries…

maximum of 25 images???

I am trying to use this plugin for a photography site… each time I add more than 25 images to a gallery, I get this error appear right on the web page itself, above the (working) slider:

Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]:open_basedir restriction in effect. gobbledegook blah blah..

Is this a host issue? If it is, why is it only with more than 25 images… and I have multiple sliders on the page..

Any ideas, please?

Responsive with NextGenGallery?

I am using the wunderslider to make my nextgen slideshows responsive. I have enabled the custom options but unfortunately the plug in is not giving the desired effect. Am I doing something wrong? I would like my slideshow to retain 100% width of the parent container and the height to remain proportional. If there is any other way of doing this I would be very happy to know.

how to display thumbnails?

I’m using Wunderslider plugin to “dress up” the NextGen gallery by displaying images in a slider/carousel. I would like to display thumbnails, and have the corresponding image display in the slider when the thumbnail is clicked on. Any ideas how to make this happen?

I’m also open to alternative methods if there is a better way than the one I’m attempting.

I’d really love to use this plugin, however I’m having issue with doing just that.

I’ve tried installing it both from the Plugin’s page search results and by downloading/uploading it manually. Both times resulted in the following error:
“The WunderSlider plugin has not been found. You need to install or activate it.”

The odd thing is, I’ve been able to activate it and change the settings as if it was functioning/found.

Any ideas what’s causing this and how to fix?

– [wunderslider_nggallery id=”123″] shortcode renders NextGEN gallery with id 123
– optional NextGEN shortcode handling as with WordPress’ default shortcode, NextGEN’s [nggallery] can optionally be handled to automatically convert these in WunderSlider slideshows
