I’ve been investigating and the plugin is blocking the WP Smush Pro plugin (I haven’t tested it in the free version).
It’s probably blocking the request, I just couldn’t check which request is made to report here.

We used wp_smush pro before as a former member of WPMUDEV which is using the same base code originated form the Yahoo smush.it. It was the WPMUDEV marketing strategy which glued and actually fooled us. $600/year for something you can get much much better here with resmush.it for free
Fortunately a friend pointed us to resmush.it and since 1 year it gets installed in all our customer sites – mostly governmental related and often with tons of images.

We build those sites using DIVI which works just perfect together with resmush.it. Before we had problems when using hummingbird and wp_smush and DIVI as that absolutely did not play nice together.

Now we use swift performance, resmush.it and DIVI and never had any problems and best of all achieving 100/95+ scores on GTMetrix all the time. Before with wpsmush pro and hummingbird, we made it at maximum to 95/85.

We recently started to build sites also with OXYGEN v.2 and also here resmush.it is the best asset for the sites causing absolutely ZERO problems and best results. Keep up the good work!

I needed to speed up my site speed load time and this helped me to save a lot of space from my images. It sure smushed them.

WPSmush does not smush images automatically

Hello,

It looks that WP Smush plugin does not work in our website. It’s strange because we have the same plugin installed on other websites and works fine.
The downloaded Version in all the websites is 2.6.3.
Any other plugins installed are working fine in the website and only this plugin has problem.

The exact problem is that the plugin does not smush the images automatically once you upload an image in the media library. I would like to inform you that the setting “Automatically smush my images on upload” is also enabled.

Going in the media library, when listing all images, in the WP Smush column there is a button to “Smush Now!”. Pressing this button manually the smush works ok, but we want the plugin to work automatically as in the other sites.

Can you please provide me with any ideas why the auto-smush fails? I am available for any further information in order to find the solution.

WPSmush creates a thumbnail that can’t be optimized

I installed WP Smush and ran the optimization for all of my images. It says that all are smushed, but when I reload the page, it tells me that 15 of my 1003 images still needs to be optimized. When I use Google’s Page Speed Insights, it tells me that a bunch of the images with a “539×303” on the end of it still needs to be optimized. I see this dimension in the WP Smush Settings, but can’t figure out how to optimize those thumbnails so that Google’s Page Speed Insights recognizes them as optimized.
