Despite setting the “No caching” method, disabling local storage and munge options, and excluding all .js files used by Age Gate from Nitropack, the age gate banner still appears inconsistently. It works correctly for first-time users when they enter the site, but then continues to display regardless of the page being accessed.
Further investigation has revealed that the banner is being served up incorrectly, as the F12 and right-click functions still work despite being disabled. Purging Nitropack’s cache makes the banner disappear, but it reappears randomly around 10 minutes later, persisting as the issue.
I’m wondering if anyone has encountered a similar problem or has any ideas on how to resolve this. WPEngine support was unable to provide a solution, so I’m hoping the community here might have some insights. Interestingly, using the ?nonitro parameter at the end of the URL prevents the age gate banner from appearing, suggesting the issue is related to Nitropack’s functionality.
I appreciate any assistance you can provide in helping me address this puzzling situation.
]]>The firewall has been enabled & protecting for years… until today.
When I login and re-activate the firewall, I also saw the following notice, “The WAF storage engine is currently set to mysqli, but Wordfence is unable to use the database. The WAF will fall back to using local file system storage instead.”
WP Engine Support indicated,
“Everything seems to be ok on WP Engine’s end in relation to that, considering WPEngine uses MySQLi automatically and nothing has changed about that.
I’ve just double checked with out team and there’s no known events or issues related to that on our side at the moment.
I would suggest if possible to contact WordFence to obtain more information about this if possible.”
Followed by, “Just having a look and all looks good on our end as far as we can see. Since this is a 3rd party plugin, if you could check with Wordfence on this to get an insight from them and get back to us if there are any changes that needs to be made.”
Can anyone help?
]]>I am new to WP Engine and have that issue in 6.5.4. Under Site Health / Security / “Disk space available to perform updates”, it states “Could not determine available disk space for updates.”
Does anyone else here use WP Engine and have the same issue? If it’s due to the fact that WP Engine disables “disk_free_space”, and everyone has it there, fine. But I’m sure that case was fixed.
Support just says that it doesn’t really impact anything, just a WordPress code issue that may be fixed at some point. However, it’s not plugin or theme-related. A fresh installation throws the same issue, so it’s likely a server problem (or everyone has it for real). Since I’m paying 600 bucks a month, it would be nice to know I’m not sitting on a misconfigured server.
Any input is appreciated!
These cache exclusions almost work, except after you actually reset your password and save it, it then redirects you to the /lostpassword/?error=invalidkey and the error of
Error:?Your password reset link appears to be invalid. Please request a new link below.
However, the password has been successfully updated. You would think this would redirect you to the /login page perhaps?
Any insights?
