Connection Failure with Dagon Design Secure Form Mailer

I just thought that I’d let you know that the WP Remote website refuses to connect to sites using the Dagon Design Secure Form Mailer plugin – versions 5.4, 5.41, 5.6 & 5.8.

The error produced is:

Wooah! – You have the WP Remote Plugin installed, but you have entered the wrong API key!

My final solution was to drop use of the Dagon plugin and use Contact Form 7 instead. I was then able to connect to my websites from WP Remote.

I hope this helps other users of WP Remote/Dagon Design.

Fails to control sites

It fails to control plugins on many sites, especially when WPremote updates. And core updates.
Even ones with the default theme & no plugins can struggle.
Or identical sites, where one version updates remotely but other doesn’t.

May need to look for one that works fully.
Though very much appreciated, when free, for ‘watching sites’ to update manually

Database export/import problem

Hi!

I have a very strange problem when trying to import back database files created by WP Remote (manual) backup.

When importing database file in phpmyadmin I get #1064 error and upon investigating I found out that the backup file created by WP Remote is missing all of the quotes surrounding the dates in WPML tables in my database. When those quotes are added, importing the database works fine.

Also, when I manually backup the database, all those dates are surrounded with quotes which means that manually backuped up file via phpmyadmin works just fine.

What is the problem and is there something I can do about it? Because if this pertains (for me) I’m afraid, database backuping via WP Remote is unusable for me.

WP-Remote Does Not Work

WP-Remote should be taken out. It just does not work. On a number of my sites I’ve found that WP-Remote tells me all is fine and up to date.

Than checking the backend myself, some sites have 8 or more plugins to be updated.

The “wonderful people at Human Made” do not respond either. I think this plugin is dead!

No idea what the issue is.

Warns "Wordfence Security may cause issues with WP Remote"

When I install the WP Remote plugin on sites with the Wordfence Security plugin, I get a red warning message at the top of the admin area that says, “The plugin Wordfence Security may cause issues with WP Remote. Click here for instructions on how to resolve this issue.” That linked page doesn’t mention Wordfence, but this one tells how to whitelist the IP address for WP Remote.

I’ve still been able to use WP Remote with Wordfence installed (without whitelisting the IP address), so it doesn’t seem to be causing an issue.

Thanks for the nice plugin and wpremote site.
Trying to update some plugins and a theme by wp remote gives the folowing message: updating plugin failed. http_request_failed
website is hosted at a linux server
another website on a windows server didn’t had that problem.

website www.a-rigaud.nl (didn’t work)( apache)
website www.a-rigaud.fr does work (windows)

A wp-remote user has reported that BPS is blocking wp-remote and I assume this block is occurring due to this new line of code in BPS .47.5 – RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^.*your-website-domain-name.com.* [OR]. This particular filter is specifically designed to block remote file access, but a whitelisting can be added as shown below. My question is what would be the RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} condition for wp-remote? Does wp-remote need to access the URI for the wp-remote plugin folder? Thanks.

[Plugin: Better WP Security] WP Remote is now being blocked

WPremote.com can no longer see if plugins are updated and update them, seemingly due to recent changes in Better WP Security. Does anyone know of a possible cause and solution? A global whitelist might do the trick. Their IP is 107.22.153.142.
