In public html i found this 2 files: wp-register.php , wp-pass.php These files are not being updated with wordpress and i was wondering what they are for and if I can delete them?

Also file called wp-rdf.php or wp-rss.php and wp-rss2.php These files are not updated since 2011 and i was wondering what they are for and what will happen if I delete them?

Password-Protect Pages Not Working! (wp-login.php?action=postpass)

My wordpress site is https://grafficity.sg, and I am using a the theme, Touchfolio.

I made some of my pages password protected, as I only require specific users to access the page. The passwords I generated were different for each page. The first time, it worked, and my users were able to access the page after submitting the password.

However, just recently, the page doesn’t load up after entering the password. I am sent to this link (https://grafficity.sg/wp-login.php?action=postpass) which is a BLANK page.

Previously using the WordPress version 3.4.2, I have now upgraded my WordPress site to the latest version 3.5.1. I have also tried suggestions of disabling my plugins, (even in my Host’s File Manager) yet nothing works. Anyone else found this problem?

Please help!

Password protected pages stuck on wp-pass.php

The ability to password protect a page on my site has suddenly stopped working.

When a password is entered on a page, it redirects to a “Page not found” with the wp-pass.php extension in the URL.

I tried making a page from scratch to test and its still not working.

Something changed — could it be server related?

I’m trying to password protect a page (not a post) and I have it setup that the page is in fact, password protected in the admin. However, I go to said page and sure enough, it is password protected, so I place in the password I created, and instead of it taking me to the content, it instead takes me to wp-pass.php and a blank white screen. Why is this and what is the fix? Permissions?

I am trying to add password protection to a SSL secure page as a way to offer a discounted price to special groups. When a person goes to https://kathibrowne.com/blog/discount and enters the password, they end up at a blank screen at wp-pass.php. I found an old post that suggested editing line:
wp_safe_redirect(wp_get_referer());
to
wp_safe_redirect(wp_get_referer() . ‘?’);

but now the discount page doesn’t seem to ever finish drawing up. It isn’t a firefox issue because it did this for me (Mac) and many other people using a variety of platforms.

Any help would be appreciated.

When I attempt to access a password protected page on my site using Firefox 3.6.3 on a Mac, I end up at wp-pass.php with a completely blank screen. If I use the back button to return to the password protected page and hit refresh the page loads successfully (I assume this is based on the stored cookie value).

I’ve also had reports from other users that after entering the password, they are redirected to the wp-admin/ logon screen.

I’d greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to proceed with trouble-shooting this problem and/or what the cause might be.

NOTE: the site is running on IIS 6

So I’ve got a post that’s password protected.
As expected it hides the content and prompts the reader for a password.

When you enter in the password though…
you end up at a blank page.
The address bar indicates I’m looking at wp-pass.php

I edited the file and tried to echo out wp_get_referer() … it didn’t display anything.

If I go back the post and refresh – the content displays so the password did “process”.

I am running WordPress version 2.6.2

Anybody have any ideas?

Hey!

So here’s my problem. When I want to have access to my protected entry with my password, it redirects me to the wp-pass.php files that says “Object Moved This document may be found here” and links back to the very same wp-pass.php file. Why isn’t it redirecting me to my protected entry? Can anyone help me out with this stuff? Thanks!!
