I have siteground-wp23 1.0 free theme and I want to change the default front page image (corporate people) with my own. It doesn’t seem to have an option in wordpress for doing this. Can anybody help? Thanks a lot.

Disappearing Posts

I’m running WP 2.3, everything is working okay in Firefox/Camino. On Safari, my Blog Posts (not my Pages) are disappearing. As I scroll through the Posts, everything is fine (at first), then they disappear. Scroll back up and they appear again. Any suggestions?

PS: My sidebar and header are ‘fixed’, tried making their position ‘unfixed’ but this doesn’t change the disappearing Posts problem.

new pages in manage pages

I recently upgraded to version 2.3.1.
I just created a new page template based on page.php. I could create a new page based on the template. When I go to manage/pages, I can’t see my newly created page in the list. When I do a search with a word part of the title, the page appears! The page is correctly displayed on my site and is recognized for example by the wp-tree plugin.
Is the non-displaying of the page in the manage/pages list a bug for the 2.3 version or am I doing something wrong?

WP 2.3 Yahoo

I am using Yahoo to host my paid WP blog. The initial installation was very easy with the click of a few buttons. I set it for Yahoo to automatically uspdate. Does anyone else host their WP on Yahoo? They say they don’t know about a new WP version above 2.02!
I am just starting to get into Widgets and more extensive plugins. Naturally WP 2.3 seems to be a major change from prior versions according to what you folks said here.

The nice folks at Yahoo told me to tell WP that they would like to know if WP has a new version above 2.02. Apparently Yahoo does know that much about WP. But do you folks think it is ok to start adding tags via Ultimate Tag Warrior which does not work at the 2.3 level or should I just wait till they update? Ok Ok thats what I get for not installing it myself!

First – I’ve read the most recent posts on this – and I’ve struggled for over 8 hours on this… which I’m hoping won’t just show how dumb I am…

I would like a heirarchial category output on an individual Page, or Category template. either would work fine. AND when the sub-sub-etc-category is clicked – a list of alphabetical posts.

I now have way too much jumbled info in my brain, and I can’t figure out the simple solution:
Am I looking for an archive php parameter (can postbypost do this?)
– a get_posts (but that doesn’t recognize child & parent relationships)?
– wp_list_categories? (All the navigation tree plugins that I’ve tried (Dagon Design/ Sobek’s/ wp-dtree/ wenderhost/ Alex King’s fold categories – all get that damn category error.)

Cannot Save or Publish Pages and Posts

I am trying to create a contact page. I enter the information, click either save and continute or publish, and this is the error message I get:

I’m running 2.3.1 but it was doing it with 2.3, as well

I don’t know what to do at this point – I deactivated all my plug-ins, but it’s doesn’t change the error message.

Any advice at all would be most appreciated.

New theme supports version 2.3 tagging. (Revisions will be necessary for WP versions previous to 2.3.)

Title tags are already optimized so you won’t need a plugin.

Right-hand sidebar, page navigation at top. Template pages included for easy static front page.

Even better, if you want to nest a phpBB2 forum in your blog using the WP-United mod for phpBB, you won’t need to tweak the style sheet at all. The colors match phpBB’s subsilver template.

WP 2.3 Categories and a Plugin

I recently upgraded to 2.3, and kinda freaked out because the categories was missing from the SQL, especially since a plugin I use was causing an issue with Categories showing up in the Admin panel, which also meant that no posts were showing. Finally figured it out after a few hours of major concern.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to make this plugin 2.3 compatible? I do well on themes, but plugin code is not my thing.

Help needed with “WordPress database error”

I have a newish WP blog. When posting today I got the following error message –

“WordPress database error: [Table ‘web91-recipe-wp.wp_post2cat’ doesn’t exist] SELECT cat_ID AS ID, MAX(post_modified) AS last_mod FROM wp_posts p LEFT JOIN

As a WP novice I have no idea what might have caused this or where to start looking to rectify the problem.

Any help, advice or guidance will be much appreciated.
